In her dreamlike paintings made with wild layers of ballpoint pen and ink splatters, Kaya (b. 1987) creates a surreal and symbolic world characterized by both chaos and delicacy.

By following her stream of consciousness, she lets herself be surprised by what appears on the paper. The resulting autobiographical pantheon reads like a dark adult fairy tale, overflowing with alien flora, shape shifting animals, devils, death, and gentle spirits.
